Nobody likes to tidy up, but everybody enjoys a clean house. Moreover, the majority of people find it difficult to concentrate on relaxing or working from home when a house is a dirty mess. So, the spring cleaning might actually help you to declutter thoughts (in addition to the rooms).
Divide the total cleanup into a few stages – disposing of junk, sorting out the outdated, arranging the relevant things. You can sell or giveaway old clothes, shoes, toys, books at online marketplaces. Take plastics, paper, and any other recyclables to the relevant recycling stations.
Pay special attention to the items, that you are still planning to use. Wash, pack and put away warm clothes/shoes – their time will come next season. Because even if you can’t afford to buy new stuff, why should your old ones be a mess?
.
Getting in shape after long winter holidays and a few months in lockdown does not have to cost you an expensive fitness club membership. Start with analyzing your current habits and food addictions. Smoking, consuming alcohol, and junk food will make you neither pretty nor healthy.
And workouts could be absolutely free – at home (using YouTube tutorials) or outside (jogging, walking, using street sport fitness equipment).
.
As soon as your body and home are neat and clean, it is high time to take care of the inner balance. People often tend to get obsessed with the financial aspect of their life and do not really know how to switch, relax and start being happy over smaller things.
And while financial wellbeing is by no means one of the most important factors, try to separate apples from oranges – even if you are still looking for a happy place moneywise, this should not affect your overall personal life satisfaction.
Try meditation, writing small daily pleasures into the gratitude diary, read more, disconnect yourself from social media (in favor of real interaction).
.
Never underestimate the value of good sleep for one’s mood and health. Not getting enough sleeping hours might lead to premature wrinkles and body breakdown. Furthermore, you may eventually end up at the doctor’s office reading through a huge prescription list.
7-8 hours of comfortable night sleep (nice pillows, fresh bed linen, cool air, dark window drapes) are considered healthy. Do not forget to turn the TV and all the devices off one hour before going to bed.
.
When we start doing something new a whole range of emotion is involved – inspiration, the rush of endorphins, zest for life. So why hesitate to try it?
You can start learning a foreign language, practice a musical instrument that has been collecting dust in the furthers closet, take a sewing course or get to know coding. One of the greatest perks of our time is the ability to get knowledge free of charge via the internet. The only thing you need to do – is finding a path and sphere that suit you well.
.
If at some point you want to end up at the deserted island with no human interaction whatsoever – it simply proves how normal you are. All people occasionally get the “leave me alone” cravings. Luckily, those come and go because eventually everybody needs somebody.
Meeting your most dear people calms you down and gives you a feeling of inner comfort and satisfaction. Try to see your friends and family as often as you can. If for whatever reason this is not possible – maintain your social balance in other ways. E.g., volunteer for visits to the orphanage, senior center, or adopt a shelter pet.
